There is no single best month. There is only the best month for the wedding you actually want — and the trade-off is always between temperature, price and how many other people are on the beach.
April to mid-June: the sweet spot
Warm days, cool evenings, green landscapes and shoulder-season pricing on flights and hotels. Late May and early June are the strongest weeks of the year for outdoor dinners in Cyprus, Malta, Puglia and the Greek islands.
The risk is spring rain, which is real in April and rare by late May.
July and August: the hard months
Peak heat, peak prices, peak crowds. Daytime ceremonies become genuinely uncomfortable above 35°C, and older guests suffer. If you must marry in August, move the ceremony to 18:00 or later, provide shade and water, and choose a coastal site with an evening breeze.
September and October: the connoisseur's choice
The sea is at its warmest, the light turns golden, and the crowds have gone home. September is now the single most requested month across our directory, which means the best venues sell out 14–18 months ahead.
October remains reliable in Cyprus, Malta and Crete, and becomes a gamble in northern Italy and France.
November to March: low season, big savings
Off-season weddings are the best-value decision in this entire guide, if you plan an indoor reception you actually love rather than treating it as a backup. Expect 20–40% lower venue rates and genuine vendor availability.
