The Setting
The Lodge – A Historic Gem for Intimate Weddings in the Heart of Cospicua
Step into the timeless charm of The Lodge, a 16th-century Maltese residence steeped in history and elegance, and discover a truly unique setting for your wedding celebration. Nestled along one of the oldest streets in the fortified city of Cospicua—part of Malta’s iconic Three Cities—The Lodge offers a captivating blend of legacy, luxury, and romance.
Once built by an Italian knight of the Holy Order of St John around 1580, this historic home has been thoughtfully restored to preserve its ancient soul while offering modern comfort and stylish sophistication. Every stone, archway, and stair tells a story—from its hidden cavern, believed to predate the Great Siege of 1565, to the grand old steps once laid by the Knights of St John and scarred by World War II.
Among its most striking features is an underground wine cellar, nestled within the oldest part of the property. This atmospheric space, with its limestone walls and timeless ambience, serves as a stunning backdrop for private wine tastings, romantic dinners, or intimate gatherings—adding an unforgettable layer of charm to your celebration.
