Second Vow

Terms & Conditions

Second Vow is a listings board for pre-loved wedding dresses. Buyers and sellers deal directly with each other. Please read this before you buy or list a gown — it sets out the risks, how to buy safely, and the limits of what Wedding Aliens is responsible for.

Last updated August 2026

In short: buy in your own country, see the gown in person, pay when it is in your hands. Wedding Aliens is not a party to your sale and takes no responsibility for any fraudulent seller or buyer — be cautious.

1. What Second Vow is — and is not

Second Vow is the pre-loved bridal listings board operated by The Wedding Aliens LTD (“Wedding Aliens”, “we”, “us”). We publish listings created by private sellers so that a gown can find a second wedding.

We are not the seller, the buyer, an agent, a broker, an auctioneer, a consignment store, a shipper, an insurer or an escrow service. We never take possession of a gown, never handle the purchase money, and never authenticate designers, sizes, condition or provenance. Every sale is a private contract between the buyer and the seller only.

Nothing on Second Vow is a guarantee, warranty or endorsement of a gown, a price or a person.

2. How we ask you to buy — local, in person, paid on handover

Buy inside your own country wherever possible. Second Vow is rolled out country by country precisely so buyer and seller can meet. Cross-border sales add shipping risk, customs cost and almost no recourse if something is wrong.

See the gown in person before you pay. Inspect it in daylight: designer label, size label, alterations, hem, lining, boning, zip, buttons, beading, underarm and neckline marks, stains and repairs. Try it on if you can. A pre-loved gown is sold as seen.

Pay on handover, face to face. Meet in a public or shared space, bring someone with you, and pay only once the gown is physically in your hands. Never pay a deposit or “reservation fee” to hold a gown, and never pay by gift card, crypto, money-transfer service or bank transfer to someone you have not met.

Treat urgency as a warning sign. Pressure to pay today, a story about another buyer waiting, a request to move the conversation off-platform, refusal to meet, refusal to video call, or a price far below market are all reasons to walk away.

3. Fraud, misdescription and disputes

Anyone can create an account. We review listings for obvious problems and remove what we can, but we cannot verify the identity, honesty, solvency or intentions of any user, and we cannot detect every counterfeit gown or every fraudulent buyer or seller.

You accept that you use Second Vow at your own risk. Wedding Aliens accepts no responsibility and no liability for any fraudulent, dishonest, negligent or criminal act or omission by a seller or a buyer, for a gown that is counterfeit, misdescribed, damaged, the wrong size or never delivered, for money paid and not refunded, for meetings arranged between users, or for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from a listing or a sale.

Disputes are between buyer and seller. We are not an arbitrator and we cannot recover, refund or chargeback money for you. Where a sale involves suspected fraud, report it to your local police and to your bank or payment provider first; then tell us at secondvow@weddingaliens.com and we will remove the listing and, where lawful, cooperate with the authorities.

4. Seller rules

You may only list a gown you legally own and are entitled to sell. One listing per seller during the free launch tier.

Your listing must be honest: your own photographs of the actual gown, the true designer and size, and every alteration, stain, repair and flaw disclosed in the condition notes. No stock photography, no counterfeit or replica gowns, no dresses you do not have in your possession.

Keep your listing current. Mark a gown sold as soon as it sells, and edit or delete it yourself at any time from your account.

You are responsible for your own tax, and for meeting the buyer safely. If you knowingly misdescribe a gown or attempt to defraud a buyer, we will remove your listings and your account without notice.

5. Listing fees and commission

Second Vow charges 0% commission on every sale — we never take a cut of what you are paid, because we are never in the payment path.

Listing fees follow the launch ladder: gowns 1–15 are free (one gown per seller), 16–35 are €5, 36–60 are €10, and from 61 onwards a listing is €15. The fee buys placement of a listing; it is not a promise of a sale and is not refundable if your gown does not sell.

6. Contact and identity

Buyer and seller contact details are handled through our relay. Public listings show the seller's first name and country or area only — never the seller's full name, email, phone number or address.

When a buyer sends an enquiry, the buyer chooses a preferred reply method and agrees that we may pass their name, email, optional WhatsApp number and message to the seller. The seller can then reply directly. Do not use details shared through Second Vow for marketing or any purpose other than the sale in question.

7. Removal, suspension and changes

We may edit or remove any listing, and suspend or delete any account, at our discretion — in particular where a listing looks fraudulent, counterfeit, misleading, unsafe or unlawful.

We may change these terms as Second Vow develops. Continuing to use Second Vow after a change means you accept the updated terms.

8. Liability and governing law

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wedding Aliens excludes all liability arising out of or in connection with Second Vow, listings, users, sales, meetings and payments. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the listing fee (if any) you paid us for the listing concerned.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud by us. Your statutory rights against a trader, where a seller is acting as a trader, are unaffected.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Cypriot courts.
